ECEC is the district's innovative special education preschool program! Our school is for preschool students with disabilities from ages 3 to 5 years old who live within the boundaries of the Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District. Students who graduate from ECEC typically move on to Kindergarten or TK classes at one of the district's elementary schools. We take pride in meeting the needs of students with unique challenges of all types. Our classes include two levels of specialized academic instruction as well as groups that work on speech language and articulation. Morning and afternoon classes are available, space permitting. Our school is housed within two buildings on the Student Services Department campus, located at the eastern end of Avenue H in Yucaipa. Please call if you have questions about our no-cost program or enrollment. We would be happy to work with you to see if our school is a fit for your child. -- Jennifer Isaac, Coordinator
Congrats, Mrs. Wood!
Congrats, Mrs. Wood!
ECEC congratulates Instructional Aide Julie Wood on being named a San Bernardino County Classified School Employee of the Year for 2018. She was nominated in the Para-Educator category for her six years of work with our students. Mrs. Wood “understands and values the importance of creating a constructive partnership with families she works with on a daily basis,” wrote Katie Smith, classroom teacher who works with Mrs. Wood. Through her kind and caring attitude she has developed relationships with families that help them feel supported. One family in particular stated she “helps to build our family stronger.” Students adore Mrs. Wood and gravitate to her calm demeanor. She works so hard to unlock their potential and takes time to get to know each one individually. Jennifer Isaac, Special Education Coordinator shared that “Mrs. Wood brings joy to the preschool, puts families at ease, and treats each child as if he or she were her own.” We are endlessly grateful to Mrs. Wood for the time, dedication, compassion, and love she puts into her work each and every day. Our classrooms are just a little brighter because you work here!
